Born and raised in the United Kingdom to Bangladeshi parents, Dr Sabina grew up between cultures and identities, never quite belonging neatly to one. That experience taught her early how much family, culture, and the things life puts us through shape the way we feel. It also left her with a question she has spent her career answering: what actually helps people heal?
Her qualifications in psychology and psychotherapy sit on top of years spent in clinical, therapeutic, educational, and community settings. She has worked alongside people through trauma and anxiety, depression and stress, strained relationships and shaken self-worth, questions of identity, and the long shadow that difficult experiences can cast.
“Healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about reconnecting with the strengths, wisdom, and resilience that already exist within us.”
That belief shapes how she works. Sessions pair evidence-based psychological practice with real warmth, cultural awareness, and respect for the whole of a person’s life. The aim is never to patch over what hurts, but to help you reconnect with the strength and clarity that were already there.
Too many people go looking for support and find nothing that fits. That is especially true in diverse and underserved communities, where the help on offer can feel distant, hard to reach, or simply not built with them in mind. Healing Psychology grew out of that gap, with one straightforward aim: to make psychology useful in ordinary life, in language that actually lands.
In practice, that means therapy, psychological assessments, workshops, retreats, education, and resources, all pointed at the same thing, helping people understand themselves, work through what hurts, and change for good. Much of the work happens well outside the therapy room, in prevention, self-awareness, and growth.
Underneath all of it is a stubborn conviction: given the right support, knowledge, and opportunity, anyone can heal and grow into a life they have a hand in shaping. Chipping away at the stigma around mental health, and widening the door to support, is the thread that ties the work together.
Through clinical practice, public speaking, education, and advocacy, the goal is a society that is more compassionate and more inclusive, one that takes lived experience seriously, makes room for cultural difference, and helps people move past simply getting by toward something fuller.
